California Orthodontic Assistant Permit Training

ITI offers an online training program that prepares the orthodontic assistant to take the California Orthodontic Assistant Permit Exam. Effective January 1, 2010 orthodontic assistants in California are required to obtain an Orthodontic Assistant Permit to place and remove orthodontic bands, ligate archwires, prepare teeth for bonding and preposition brackets, and to remove braces and cement.

An orthodontist licensed in California may give the Orthodontic Assistant Permit Course in the practice. To do this the orthodontist must become an approved "Education Provider of the Orthodontic Assistant Course" by submitting this application:
